PAVING THE WAY FOR CHANGE

Indie (i.e. Independent) movies are the ones made without support of big banner or big name. It also refers to art films which are different from mainstream masala flick. And such is our indie-English movie Drawing Blood. It is not easy for an indie film, to reach large number of audience, as it is not backed by big names. But surprisingly it is changing slowly. Drawing Blood itself has got more than 34k likes on facebook. More than 20 countries all over the world are talking about it. Over 20,000 artists are enthusiastic for watching the film. So we can see the trend is changing.

It is assumed that indie film can only be understood by intellectual class of people. It is meant only for such kind of people who are highly educated and knowledgeable. INDIE FILM PERSONIFIED-THE THIRD EYE

Drawing Blood has crossed about 33,700 Likes over Facebook, which is first of its kind. More than 20 countries are talking about it. Over 20,000 artists are enthusiastic for watching the film. Over the south of India, there were many press releases regarding the movie. And now the movie is going to start its promotional activity in Mumbai, that too in a totally different way.
The movie shall be a part of VISIONS 2013-THE THIRD EYE. It’s the Annual College fest of SIES COLLEGE OF ARTS, SCIENCE AND COMMERCE,SION WEST - MUMBAI.

VISIONS 2013 this year has a unique theme of The Third Eye. We all know about the third eye of lord Shiva. The third eye can see beyond the things that our both the eyes can see. All of us have the third eye inside us. It’s only we have to take efforts to unleash the mysteries around us. And this is how both Drawing Blood and Visions are connected to each other. While Visions has theme of the third eye which means to look beyond the things that we usually see, Drawing Blood also conveys through its story a message truly knowingly unknown and blind to our real eyes. Like we all feel that an artist has a colorful life from outside, but no one really sees beyond that. The movie has captured a life of an artist through third eye, that is, it has portrayed beyond what we see. The third eye is the link that connects Drawing Blood and Visions 2013 with each other.

The promotional activity begins Tomorrow, i.e. 14th October 2013 at SIES College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Sion (West). Also there would be fun events / competitions, lucky draw from which you can get a chance to be part of special screening of the Drawing Blood. So be there to be part of this exciting phase, because this is going to be first of its kind activity. To witness the fun stay tuned to our links below for everyday excitement!!! See ya...

Drawing Blood, An indie film - A different view of cinema

Cinema is an art and has an important place in the society.  But in India-every form of art, be it music of theatre, is consumed by Bollywood. If we are not able to produce something beyond box-office numbers, then something is seriously wrong and there is a need to change it and it can be bought up only by a change within us.
Most good Indian films represent what is familiar to us. They intend to annoy or upset people with the same old stories. Independent movies challenge not only our habitual ways of watching a film but also our fixed ways of thinking about love, man, woman, morality and conventions. We, the audiences, need to find ways of looking at these films differently."There was a time in Indian Cinema. I think it was the black and white era when most Indian films were produced by NFDC (National Film Development Corporation). I think that was the golden period when films were made with passion and creativity. Today i think it is all about Bollywood and its stars in the last few years", says Tannishtha Chatterjee, the actress who fetched global recognition through Independent cinema. This is the state of Indian cinema and how we do not encourage Independent films in India. The main reason why Indian indie films are encouraged in International film festivals are as they want to embrace an alternate way of looking as well as enjoy such kind of films from around the world.
One such kind of movie is - Drawing Blood, which is an Indie film with a story revolving around a life of an artist/painter. The life of an artist is portrayed in the movie about how pale it can get although he paints colours, and i believe that each one of us has an artist deep inside of us and therefor should give a try to such a film and encourage it.
